Skjolden is easily accessible from both Oslo and Bergen. We recommend traveling by car or bus - such that you can really enjoy the beautiful scenery.

It will take you approx. 5 hours to drive from Bergen (via Aurland and Lærdal), and approx. 7 hours (Hallingdalen valley via Hemsedal and Gol) to drive from Oslo. These estimates are based on relatively slow driving and several stops.

If you are going to western Norway and on to Skjolden, look for road signs to Sogndal, Lom, Lærdal, Gol and Fagernes. From these spots you can easily find your way.

To plan your trip, have a look at Ruteinfo or Visveg. For Bus and Ferry schedules, please refer to NOR-WAY Bussekspress and Fylkesbaatane.
